General Questions

New around here?  Start With the Basics

What size companies do you typically work with?

We best serve quickly growing small and mid-sized businesses.  We fit best with companies that have under 400 employees and under $500M in revenue.

What industries do you support?

Supply chain principles affect any industry that sells a product.  While we have historically serviced automotive, warehousing/distribution, ecommerce, logistics clients.   We love expanding our industry base and sharing knowledge across industrial applications.

Where are you located?

We are a remote office with a physical presence in Katy, TX, about 30 minutes west of Houston.

What happens in the initial consultation?

Our initial consultation will last about 30 minutes.  A bulk of the time will be spent appropriately understanding your needs and properly scoping the nature of the work.  We’ll ask questions about your company’s history and changes over time, and your leadership philosophy.  We’ll also discuss how you prefer communication, the final work product, and level of involvement in the consulting engagement.  It is our best opportunity to understand your business needs, set expectations, and work toward meeting or exceeding those expectations on your terms.

How long do your engagements last?

Our shortest duration engagements are 2-3 months.  This gives the right amount of time to orient ourselves to you and your company’s needs; to observe, measure, and collaborate with appropriate parties; and provide thoughtful guidance and solutions for the engagement.

Monthly on-demand services have a 6-month minimum, but after that, it is a month-to-month agreement.  Some clients meet their needs in that timeframe, while others enjoy the partnership.  It’s up to you and doing what is best for your business.

Will you provide references?

Of course!  They’ll answer your questions honestly.  We even encourage you to ask what they did not like working with us.  We aren’t perfect, but we take that feedback seriously and aim to improve every day.

How involved will you be in our work together?

As engaged as you want us to be.  Typically the first weeks are more involved, with site visits (if appropriate/necessary) to understand the environment and unique business needs.  They will certainly feature some detailed conversations as we dive in.  Follow on weeks may be more or less involved, depending on the nature of the work.  There may be research, time studies, model building, outreach, design work, or other steps required that may be less visible.  We will provide a weekly recap summarizing progress toward the initial goal and highlighting any obstacles, insights, or needs.  We love continuing feedback, so it will be common for our team to solicit it from you and your team.

Will you publish a case study about our engagement?

We will publish a case study for you as a summary of work performed.  This is a 1-2 page overview of the work, the challenge, the strategy to solve it, and any supporting materials (you can see examples Here )We like to highlight these on our website as part of our portfolio to share supply chain insights with small and medium sized businesses, but that will be up to you.

What do you mean you won’t use jargon and corporate speak?

We’ll work with you in natural, professional language that anyone from your company can understand.
That’s our commitment.
